A NEW one-off bonus for families of school children was announced in yesterday's State Budget, in an attempt to help off-set the rising cost-of-living.

As part of a $287 million package, the $400 School Saving Bonus will be provided to every child at government schools, and eligible concession card holders at non-government schools.
