ORGANISERS of a concept that allows grieving children to celebrate their deceased mothers on Mother's Day say the event has done "great things" for the community.

Nardia Sheriff held her first "Trees for Mum" event at Kings Billabong in 2009 and never expected it to still be going strong almost 15 years later.
