FOSSEY’S owner Steve Timmis fired a broadside at Mildura Rural City Council as he shut down his Eighth Street distillery on Sunday, claiming it failed to support his business after a key tourism body was disbanded last year.

Mr Timmis said a raft of increasing rates, taxes and compliance requirements had taken their toll on his business, following eight years of trading as a boutique gin and whiskey distillery.
