LOCAL sportspeople have been engaged to participate in this year's Kabaddi Cup festival in Mildura in hopes of doubling crowd numbers.

Almost 2000 spectators came to the inaugural community event in May last year to watch volleyball and little athletics competitions, alongside the main event: a kabaddi competition.
