MOTORISTS travelling between Broken Hill and South Australia were detoured via Mildura on New Year's Eve following a fatal accident in which a freight train and road train collided on the Barrier Highway.

About 10.30am on Sunday, emergency services responded to reports of a crash at Bindarrah involving a freight train and a road train on the Barrier Highway.
