SUNRAYSIA'S Catholic community has been invited to a memorial mass for Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI in Ballarat this Thursday.

The mass will be held at St Patrick’s Cathedral at 10am.

Pope Benedict, born Joseph Ratzinger, died aged 95, almost 10 years after he resigned as the head of the Catholic Church in 2013.
