Students get a kick out of footy day

IT was all about Friday Footy at Mildura Specialist School last week, when David Kennedy, of AFL Sunraysia, gifted the school a prize pack.

The prize pack was in recognition of the school's involvement in AFL Primary Play sessions and included sporting equipment and designed for people living with a disability.

"Football is a game for everyone," Mr Kennedy said. "We want everyone to know that it's a game for everyone – it's all about inclusion. We want to get more of these kids into our community football program, like through Auskick and Auskick for all abilities."

Mildura Specialist School has been taking part in these footy clinics for the past four years and Mr Kennedy said he "looks forward" to returning to the school in the future.

As part of the football-themed day, students dressed up in their favourite teams' colours and paraded in front of their classmates to their clubs' songs.
