Bureau of Meteorology duty forecaster Joanna Hewes said Mildura should expect damaging winds greater than 90km/h brought on by a Sunday evening thunderstorm to continue Monday.
Ms Hewes said while the strong gusts were not expected to result in fallen trees, the associated thunderstorms were expected to deliver 15-20mm of rainfall overnight and on Monday, before easing on Tuesday.
However, she said a second push of cold air on Tuesday could "have some potential for small hail in that airmass as well as the gusty winds".
Ms Hewes said the strong winds between 50 and 60km/h were expected on Tuesday and that colder temperatures would settle in until at least Thursday.
Minimum temperatures on Monday and Tuesday were expected to be 8 degrees with tops of 13 and 14 degrees respectively.
Winter officially starts on Wednesday and June 1 is expected to be the coldest morning in the first half of the week. The forecast is for a minimum of five and a maximum of 13 degrees.
