Hume Dam releases to cut flood risk

THE Murray-Darling Basin Authority is increasing releases from Hume Dam to mitigate the risk of flood.

MDBA acting river management executive director Dr Andrew Kremor said releases would increase from 600 megalitres per day because storage levels were high, demand had dropped, and the river was heading into the period of peak inflows.
