MORE than 150 people threw their support behind Dementia Australia by walking and running along Mildura's riverfront.

The annual Memory Walk and Jog aims to help support the estimated 487,500 people in Australia living with dementia and their 1.6 million carers.

In Mildura, 157 participants made up six teams for this year's event and raised $8670, according to Sunday's tally.
