BLOOD tests have confirmed that Darren Towle, the man charged with knocking down and seriously injuring an elderly man in Mildura last year, was drink and drug driving when he allegedly fell asleep at the wheel.

Towle, the brother of Cardross killer driver Thomas, who took the lives of six teenagers in 2006, had his second bid for bail rejected Mildura Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
