WENTWORTH Shire Council has elected a new mayor.

Cr Tim Elstone, who had served as Deputy Mayor since 2016, will take over the leadership role and will be supported by new Councillor Daniel Linklater as his Deputy Mayor.

Cr Elstone stood against Cr Greg Evans for the Mayoral role, with Cr Evans and former Mayor Susan Nichols the other nominations for Deputy Mayor.
