AUTHORITIES have busted two "significant operations" in Mildura and Shepparton, where alleged offenders were caught stealing firewood from public land.

Officers from the Conservation Regulator, Parks Victoria and Forest Fire Management Victoria searched a Mildura property on September 21 after a 23-year-old man was found taking red gum timber from public land in the Mildura area.
