THE Murray-Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) has warned there is a "high likelihood" of the Hume Dam spilling and flooding downstream areas on the Murray River in coming weeks.
The dam, upstream of Albury, was at 84.3 per cent capacity on Tuesday, with the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) forecasting another 50-100mm of rain over upper Murray catchments in the coming week.
