WHILE National Police Remembrance Day looked a little difference this year, with the service held virtually, Mildura police say this year's event was more important than ever.

Mildura police Detective Sergeant Narelle Kolpin said police gathered at the station for the "very touching ceremony" which was live streamed from Melbourne's Victoria Police Academy.
