A MILDURA man has revealed how a planned leisurely ride with his girlfriend turned into 25 minutes of "pure terror" as nearly a dozen magpies swooped the pair last week.

A picture shows Jordan Mattiacci smiling as one of the magpies swoops him on Fifteenth Street, but he said this belied what he was truly feeling inside.
