POLICE have recovered the body of a man who went missing while swimming in the Murray River in Mildura late Friday.

Emergency services were called to the river at Mildura just after 5pm after the 21-year-old man disappeared underwater and did not resurface.

Officers from Barrier Police District attended and commenced a search of the area with assistance from the State Emergency Service.
