TWELVE months ago, when Mona Adams turned 99, her friends and family gathered at the woolshed at the Australian Inland Botanic Gardens.

Mona had chosen the venue to recall her very happy days working as a volunteer at the rose gardens, and the celebration was because "you never know what can happen in 12 months".
