A SHIVERY -2.2 degrees on Thursday morning was Mildura's coldest start to a day in six years.
The Mildura Airport weather station made the -2.2 recording just after 6.30am as residents across the region woke to frost.
A minimum of -2.2 or below hadn't been recorded since 2014, when it happened on four consecutive August days -- the coolest of which got to -3.1 degrees.
The coldest minimum on record at the station, which opened in 1946, was when the temperature got to -4 degrees on July 21, 1982.
Earlier this month the record for coolest maximum was broken, when temperatures got to only 7.6 degrees on July 8.
