MILDURA West Primary School's canteen is going green.

The canteen now uses only eco-friendly packaging to serve students' lunches, a move that was spearheaded by the students themselves.

"It was the kids' idea," said canteen supervisor Renae Clifford. "They were the ones that wanted to decrease the rubbish that comes out of Mildura West."
