Power outage affects Mildura customers

AN outage left more than 2000 customers in Mildura without power on Tuesday afternoon.

Powercor's website said storm activity was the cause of the outage, which was affecting 2105 customers after it was announced about 3.30pm.

Fourteenth Street was listed as the location of the fault.

Before 5pm, a Powercor update said 570 customers remained affected, with an estimate restoration time of 5.30pm given.

During the afternoon, outages attributed to Merbein's Chaffey Street, affecting 68 customers, and Mildura's Burrows Street, affecting 52 customers, were added to Powercor's list.

An updated map of potentially affected areas on Powercor's website at 4pm on Tuesday.

Outages at Riverside Avenue, Nash Court and San Mateo were each said to be affecting one customer.

Mildura saw some rain during Tuesday afternoon, although the airport weather station had recorded 0mm as of 4.50pm.
