LOWER Murray Water will consider introducing tougher water restrictions on Sunraysia residents if conditions remain dry.

Urban customers returned to stage 1 restrictions in November last year for the first time in a decade following the driest consecutive two years on record.

The current restrictions allow lawn and garden watering only on alternate days and between certain timeframes.
