MALLEE Accommodation and Support Program (MASP) says a $2.65 million social housing project on vacant land in Mildura will be a "great step forward" to addressing the region's social housing demand.

The development, in Sunnyside Avenue, follows MASP's successful bid for funding from the Victorian Government.
