MILDURA Supercars driver Cam Waters was unable to capitalise on his first pole position of the season, coming seventh in Friday's race of the Melbourne SuperSprint.

The 29-year-old earned his place at the front of the grid during Thursday's qualifying but was overtaken by fellow front-rower Will Brown by the first turn.
