WATCHING the 2023 Finke Desert Race from the sidelines was not on the agenda for Nick Waters.

The 29-year-old suffered significant injuries in last year's iconic enduro race after a nasty crash, leaving him with brain bruising, punctured lungs and seven broken ribs.
