MALLEE V8 Supercars driver Jack Perkins has been given the green light to compete at next month's iconic Bathurst 1000 event after being granted a permit to cross the border this weekend.

The son of six-time Bathurst winner Larry Perkins will head to Bathurst and self-isolate for 14 days before the big race on October 18.
