JW RACING’S maiden Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) weekend ended with a podium finish on Sunday at Phillip Island.
Three-time Australian champion Josh Waters, in his first meeting under the Mildura-based JW Racing banner, finished third on his Suzuki behind Ducati rider Wayne Maxwell and Yamaha rider Cru Halliday in the third and final race of the weekend.
It was Waters’ second third placing of the weekend after he finished in the same spot on Saturday in race one.
He also placed sixth in race two on Saturday.
Maxwell made a great start to the 2020 championship with a clean sweep of all three races.
ASBK next heads to Wakefield Park later this month with the Goulburn circuit playing host to the series on March 27-29.
