One final comment on the Climate Change Rally: Maybe the reason that organisers and supporters won’t entertain an after hours or weekend march is that they know it wouldn’t be as well supported. 

Australians will take any opportunity to take a day off school or work, believers or non-believers, but they don’t like giving up their days off.
Just remember that “every day counts”.
