WITH the colder months bringing an increase in colds, the flu and other respiratory illnesses, the Mildura Base Public Hospital leadership have encouraged patients with non-life-threatening injuries to consider alternative services.

Acting chief executive officer Matthew Jukes said the seasonal surge can put additional pressures particularly on emergency department resources and staff.
