ON Saturday Sunraysia Football Netball League sought to shine a light on mental health awareness and suicide prevention for young people in the region through a How's Ya Mate round.

As part of the effort players wore black armbands and observed a minute silence to pay respect to lives lost by suicide, with the event also featuring guest speakers, and information booths.
