MILDURA Base Public Hospital could face a forced amalgamation as part of a billion-dollar bailout of cash-strapped hospitals in next month’s State Budget, according to media reports.

The Herald Sun yesterday reported that struggling hospitals around Victoria would need a significant injection of funds or face cutting staff and services.
