AS Sunraysia faces sunny days with extremely high UV levels this week, the Your Skin Scan mobile skin-check clinic will visit Mildura and Ouyen.

Your Skin Scan chief executive and clinical nurse consultant Sharon Hudson said the service used top-grade technology to detect skin cancers.

"What we do in our clinics are comprehensive skin checks. We check every little spot, dot, freckle, everything on you, and explain what things are," she said.

"Melanoma is diagnosed in Australia every thirty seconds. That is frightful.

"An annual skin check just means that it really reduces the risk of developing an invasive melanoma and skin cancers."

Educating her patients on their skin is also something Ms Hudson is particularly passionate about.

"Helping and educating patients is a really an important part of our clinic, as well as the comprehensive examination," she said. "We like to educate our patients as to what particular things are, because once they understand why something presents as benign, suddenly they are completely reassured."

Your Skin Scan will be in Ouyen today and tomorrow, and in Mildura from Wednesday to Friday. The service visits regional Victorian communities on a three-monthly cycle. Fees range from $50 to $150, depending on consultation time. The service is not covered by Medicare.
