CHAFFEY Aged Care is hoping a new program at the facility will shore up Sunraysia's health workforce while protecting the region's most vulnerable residents.

As part of the program, three first and second-year La Trobe University Bachelor of Nursing students have been employed as casual COVID-19 screening staff at the residential care home.
