THE world’s newest Olympic Sport had a run in Mildura yesterday with the Mildura Basketball Association’s first ever 3on3 tournament at the Hothouse.
The tournament was run under 3x3 basketball conditions – which will be seen on the world stage at the Tokyo Olympics this year – with three grades of juniors (Under 12 boys, Under 14 boys and a combined 16/18 grade) competing for their respective titles.
The event also featured a three-point shooting competition.
The Mildura tournament was still underway when Sunraysia Daily went to print.
Mildura Basketball Association Summer Premier League returns next week, with the women’s premier league on Tuesday night and the men on Wednesday night.
Both competitions have seven rounds to play until finals.
