PARTICIPATION rates have doubled since the Youth Girls AFL Sunraysia competition started last year.

And participation co-ordinator David Kennedy is confident word of mouth will result in even more growth as the season progresses.

Last year's six-week program was purely for Under 14s, but this season there are two girls age groups (Under 16 and Under 13) competing over an extended 10-week season.
