FORMER Imperials and Merbein footballer Matthew Knights says he would “never say never” if an opportunity to lead an AFL club outright should the right opportunity arise.

Dumped as Essendon coach in 2010 after just three seasons at the helm, Knights tomorrow night begins another finals campaign as Geelong’s midfield coach when the Cats take on minor premiers Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.
