RICHMOND AFLW footballer Courtney Wakefield says her team will be better for the run having got their maiden game out of the way on Friday night.

The Tigers made their AFLW debut against Carlton in a 6.12 (48) to 2.2 (14) loss, but former Wentworth netballer Wakefield was positive in a post-match media conference.
