Modern slavery 'pretty rife' in Sunraysia

MODERN slavery is "pretty rife" for farm workers in Sunraysia, who face the "worst" working conditions in Australia, according to National Union of Workers (NUW) official Mick Powers.

A new report, released by the union, revealed workers surveyed from across the region received the lowest hourly rate of $14.30 - almost half the minimum wage of $24.36.
