MORE than 200 irrigators and stakeholders on Thursday attended a "highly emotive" public forum in Mildura to delve into the Murray-Darling Basin water markets.

The Mildura forum was the first of 10 to be held by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) to seek options to enhance markets for tradable water rights, including options to enhance their operations, transparency, regulation, competitiveness and efficiency.
