AgVic warns about ants

AGRICULTURE Victoria is warning farmers shipping in fodder from Queensland and New South Wales to be aware of risks they are also bringing in red imported fire ants (RIFA).

Acting chief plant health officer Stephen Dibley said RIFA, or Solenopsis invicta, is one of the worst invasive ant species in Australia.
