Tap water safe to drink, but colour may change

COMMUNITIES upstream on the Murray River have begun to see brown water come out of their taps because of discoloured floodwaters.

The phenomenon has prompted one water expert to warn residents along the Murray River to South Australia that discoloured drinking water could be on the way.
