SUNRAYSIA chickpea grower James O'Day is anticipating a bumper chickpea crop off the back of last year, in which he harvested nothing.

This year's crop is in line with latest Federal Government figures, which show chickpeas are set to be a winner, forecast to increase a whopping 162 per cent.
