Grain broker backs government on China barley tariff

MALLEE grain growers are holding on to harvested barley after China slapped Australian exports with a devastating tariff of 80.5 per cent this week.

On Monday, China's Ministry of Commerce announced the anti-dumping and anti-subsidy duties, which would remain in place for five years and are expected to all but halt a billion-dollar trade with Australia.
