YEAR 12 students in Sunraysia completed their first VCE exam this week, as their most challenging school year drew towards a close.

At St Joseph's College, the relief at getting the notoriously arduous English exam out of the way was palpable.

"I'm ecstatic," Year 12 student Pathama Wankhuan said.

"English is a three-hour (exam) so it's the longest and the most important.
