A MILK bar in Tooleybuc has been listed as an exposure site, after an essential worker with COVID-19 visited the store.
Murrumbidgee Local Health District has confirmed that the person, who was asymptomatic, visited Lucky Phil's between 9.35am and 10.05am on Sunday.
Store owners Phil and Colleen Caccaviello, underwent a COVID-19 test on Tuesday afternoon, and are self-isolating at home until their results are returned.
"Fortunately it was Sunday, which is generally a quieter day, so through QR codes and registers there, we were able to ascertain that we had maybe half a dozen people come through in that period," Mr Caccaviello told The Guardian.
"You always assume it's never going to happen but this proves that it can happen."
Mr Caccaviello said it was important for people to realise the store has a QR Code and the register at the door for a reason.
"I know people get upset and angry when they have to put a mask on in the shop, but this is a prime example of why," he said.
"We always stand here and say it's not going to happen, but it can happen."
Mr Caccaviello is encouraging anyone who was in the store during the exposure time to get tested.
"NSW Health contacted us to say we were a casual contact, but that may change when we get our results back," Mr Caccaviello said.
Mr Caccaviello said the store has undergone a deep clean, so would continue their usual trading hours, while the Caccaviello's were self-isolating.
One staff member is filling in until their return.
On Tuesday, MLHD confirmed that the person visited locations in West Wyalong, Hay and Tooleybuc between August 26 and August 30, while potentially infectious.
"The person was asymptomatic and is an essential worker who undergoes regular routine testing," MLHD said.
"They are now isolating outside of the MLHD.
"Contact tracing has identified two venues in Hay, one in West Wyalong and one in Tooleybuc."
Anyone who attended Lucky Phil's at the specified dates and times are casual contacts and must get tested and isolate until a negative test result is received.
An SMS will be sent to those who checked in with the QR Code.
MLHD is also urging anyone in West Wyalong, Hay and Tooleybuc, or who has been in these towns recently, to get tested if they have even the slightest of symptoms and isolate until they receive a negative result.
The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, sore throat and dry cough. Symptoms will generally appear three to four days after exposure to the virus but can be up to 14 days later.
