Positive COVID-19 case at Cohuna football match

COHUNA Football Netball Club has been marked as a Tier 2 exposure site after a person who has since tested positive for COVID-19 attended a football match while infectious on Saturday.

The positive COVID-19 case attended the CMFNL round 6 match against Tooleybuc-Manangatang at Cohuna last Saturday.

Anyone who was at Cohuna FNC on Saturday, May 22 between noon and 5pm must get tested and isolate until they receive a negative result and have no COVID-19 symptoms.

Earlier today, the Cohuna Kangas released a statement on Facebook that they received information an attendee at the football and netball match against Tooleybuc-Manangatang Football Netball Club had since tested positive to COVID-19.

The club said they were waiting for an official announcement from authorities and more information would be provided once this announcement has been made.

"There is a bit of mixed information getting around the community and we ask that people await official confirmation from the DHHS as to what the next steps are for people who attended the game on Saturday," the club said.

"We are awaiting confirmation of the isolation requirements for people who get tested."

They said the Cohuna Complex has been closed until further notice and will undergo a deep clean facilitated by the Gannawarra Shire Council.
