Mildura faces COVID-19 economic hit - $255m in tourism alone
 
MILDURA'S economy is facing a hit of more than $255 million based on tourism numbers alone due to COVID-19.
 

According Mildura Council's Community Relief and Recovery Plan COVID-19, the region is expected to face a 12-month visitation fall of about 80 per cent, severely impacting the usual annual spend of $320 million.

Councillors were this week told visitor tourism was a significant contributor to the region's economy and accounted for more than 229,000 visits per year.
