Robinvale, Euston join coronavirus testing blitz

MORE than 300 Robinvale and Euston residents have been tested for COVID-19 as part of the Victorian Government's testing blitz.

The testing was conducted by Robinvale District Health Services and the Royal Flying Doctor Service last week.

Tests were made on 353 people from a broad range of occupations including agriculture, health care and retailing.

School, post office, pharmacy, cafes and supermarket workers were also tested.

No positive tests were returned, but on Wednesday, RDHS and RFDS were still awaiting the results of about 50 tests..

The aim of the statewide blitz was to test people experiencing mild symptoms of the virus and those regarded as asymptomatic who worked in occupations that have wide contact with the community.

The results from the statewide testing blitz are being used to inform the Victorian Government on when restrictions can be eased.

The testing blitz is over but people experiencing symptoms of the virus are urged to contact their GP or RDHS on 5051 8160.

Common symptoms of COVID-19 are:

- Fever

- Breathing difficulties

- Breathlessness

- Cough

- Sore throat

- Fatigue or tiredness
