SPORTS stars from across the region gathered at Club Da Vinci for the Northern Mallee Sports Star of the Year Awards. Yelta clay target shooter Luke Argiro was named sports star of the year, while awards were also handed out for the best junior and senior teams, master athlete, Aboriginal sportsperson of the year, best administrator, club of the year, coach of the year, school athletes volunteer of the year and best athlete with a disability. The annual gala dinner is an opportunity for the region’s sporting personalities, their families and friends to come together in celebration of the year’s achievements.
