MILDURA Waves hosted its first World Drowning Prevention Day lunch to raise awareness for water safety and shine a light on the work of lifeguards and duty officers.

The free lunch ran from 12pm on Friday in the Mildura Waves Pool Hall with similar events running across the world in aquatics facilities.
